Terms of use
By using Report a Local HMO Near You ("the site") you agree to these terms. The site is run by HEIMDELL TECH AI LTD ("we", "us"), company number 16478408.
What the site is for
The site lets people share information about houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) and incidents at them, so residents can understand housing in their area. It is about properties, not the people who live in them.
Making a report
When you send a report, you agree that:
- it is true to the best of your knowledge and made in good faith
- it describes the property or what happened there, not the people who live there
- it does not name anyone, or mention anyone's ethnicity, nationality, religion, immigration status, disability or other personal characteristics
- it is not made to harass, intimidate or get back at anyone
We may reject any report without giving a reason. Reports that break these rules are deleted.
Using the map
You must not use anything on this site to harass, intimidate, threaten or harm anyone, or to damage property. That includes gathering at, approaching or targeting a pinned property or the people living there.
If we believe the site is being used to target people, we will remove the relevant pins and may report it to the police.
Accuracy
We check reports before publishing them, for example against council HMO licence registers, but we cannot guarantee that every pin is accurate or up to date. Information on the site is provided "as is" for general information only. For official records, contact your local council.
If you think something on the map is wrong, use our removal and correction form or email [email protected]. We'll acknowledge it within 5 working days and can take a pin down while we look into it.
Removal and correction requests
Requests must be made in good faith and should include evidence. We may ask for proof of identity and of your connection to the property. We weigh the evidence you give against the evidence we hold, and we may refuse requests that are unsupported, made in bad faith, or that would remove accurate information we are entitled to publish. We always explain our decision.
Emergencies and crime
This site is not an emergency service and is not monitored around the clock. If someone is in danger, call 999. To report a crime, call 101 or contact your local police force.
Donations
Donations through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary, help pay for hosting and security, and give no rights or influence over what is published.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Otherwise, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed.
Law
The site covers the whole of the UK, including Northern Ireland. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Northern Ireland or Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
